The Duties of The Ward Councilors in Nigeria That They Didn't even Know.

A Facebook User by the name @Sugar Boy Christian; ask this question  " What's The Work or Duties Of the Wards Councilors in the LGA" That I promise to answer, so that millions of Nigerians who dose not know the work, Duites or the usefulness of a Councilor in a Local Government Area in a state are.


Like I answered him,  majority of  the Counselors themselves don't even know their Duties because they were not told or even those who manages to know maybe from the classroom, are not for once been given chances to carry out these duties because they were hand pick by their godfathers and not elected by the people, so they have to be loyal first to their sponsors their political god's fathes then to the chairman and ultimately to the Governor.

This is the main reason Democracy can't work in Nigeria because even the people prefer cups of rice and Maggi to good governance, they prefer their governor's to look good with millions of Naira shouse to accountabilities, they prefer Praise singing to transparency. 


This is Nigeria Democracy where Ward Councilor has lost their primary functions .

How many of this duty has been carried out today in  the Official 774 LGAs in Nigeria?  

The other day we watch as a driver of the PA to the Governor beat up an elected ward councilor black and blue, it was widely published by Sahara Reporters. 


If the 1999 Constitution were to be implemented to the later ; No community would be without good primary healthcare, pipeboran water, electricity functional primary school and security.  


For the fact that these councilors are appointees of the political God's faithfulness as it is with the Chairman little to nothing is known about their works or their usefulness.
