On Monday, July 29, Pastor Umo Eno, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, presided over a crucial State Executive Council meeting at the Government House in Uyo. After the meeting, he shared some powerful updates — and more importantly, renewed his promise to build a State that truly works for everyone under the vision of the ARISE Agenda.
The Governor’s message was clear: “We’re not just making plans — we are taking action.”

Internal Roads at Dakkada Luxury Estate: Approved for construction.
Ewet Luxury Estate Upgrades: Additional works greenlit.
Stadium Maintenance Renewed: The Godswill Akpabio International Stadium will remain in top shape for both local and international use.
๐ Free Food Support Continues
๐ฏ Phase III of the Free Food Distribution Programme rolls out across all 31 Local Government Areas, beginning August 20. The Governor is fulfilling his promise to fight hunger and cushion the economic pressure on families.

New public sanitation facilities will be constructed in:

This is part of the Governor’s ongoing effort to improve public health and environmental hygiene
Transparency and Digital Innovation
Treasury Single Account (TSA) fully adopted — ensuring smarter spending, reduced leakages, and better transparency.
Akwaremit and AkwaGIS platforms will be officially launched on September 1, bringing digital solutions to land administration and public services.

The Executive Council approved the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (2026–2028) to guide responsible and impactful financial planning in the coming years
⚽ Youth Empowerment Through Sports
Preparations are underway for the Akwa Ibom Sports Festival, including replacement of outdated sports equipment. The Governor believes in empowering young people and uniting communities through sports.

On August 7, the State Government will present the ARISE Socio-Economic Impact Report — a public, transparent account of how government policies are making a real difference in people’s lives.
Education Boost
The Board of TETFUND is currently in Akwa Ibom to commission key educational projects at Akwa Ibom State University, strengthening the future of higher learning in the State.
