MTN, GLO AND AIRTEL. Nigerian are Paying More for Less
Enough is Enough: MTN, Glo, and Airtel Are Ripping Nigerians Off with Poor Internet Service!
Nigeria’s three major telecom operators — MTN, Glo, and Airtel — have become nothing more than legalized extortionists. Daily, Nigerians suffer under the yoke of poor internet service, dropped connections, vanishing data, and frustratingly slow speeds, yet we’re charged premium rates as if we’re enjoying world-class service!
These network giants have mastered the art of ripping people off. You recharge ₦2,000 for data and before you stream one YouTube video or open your email, your data is gone. No explanation. No refund. Just a soulless “thank you for using our service” text message. What service exactly are we paying for? Buffering screens? Failed downloads? Calls that never connect?
MTN promises "everywhere you go," yet their network disappears the moment you step into certain areas.
Glo claims to be the “Grandmasters of Data,” but what use is data when the internet crawls slower than a snail?
Airtel markets itself as “The SmartPhone Network,” but smart Nigerians know better — we are being duped in broad daylight!
Let’s not even talk about customer service — trying to get help is like yelling into a void. You wait endlessly only to be told to "restart your phone." Rubbish!
And what’s even more infuriating is the silence from the Nigerian government and the so-called regulatory agencies like the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). Where are they? Are they blind to the exploitation? Or have they joined the networks at the table of corruption and neglect?
While these network providers count billions in profits every year, it's the poor and hardworking Nigerians who keep suffering. Students can’t do online research, small businesses can't operate efficiently, remote workers can’t connect, and everyday people can’t enjoy what they pay for.
We’re tired. We are angry. And we demand answers.
- Why are we paying more and getting less?
- Why are these companies allowed to run monopolies with zero accountability?
- When will the Nigerian government wake up and fight for its people?
Nigerians deserve better. We are not begging for free service — we are demanding value for our money. Until the regulators step in and the telecom operators are held accountable, this robbery in the name of data and internet service will continue to destroy the lives and hopes of millions.
