Hunger: NDON EYO 2; Etinan gets 20 bags of Rice and 2 Bags of Garri

 

Etinan gets 1,280 Bags of Rice and 128 Bags of Garri. 

Gov. Umo Eno of Akwa-Ibom State has At a time when the country is facing severe hunger due to the soaring prices of essential commodities in the market, the Akwa Ibom State Government is distributing essential food items such as Rice and Garri to people in 2,272 registered villages in the state. 

At a press conference two weeks ago, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Offiong Offor, disclosed that the state government has received 24,000 bags of rice weighing 25kg and has added an additional 24,000 bags to ensure that each village gets 20 bags. 

Governor Umo Eno, last Saturday, July 27, 2024, during a media briefing with the transition committee chairmen, announced the addition of Garri, to be distributed  along with the Rice. 

Already some of local government areas have started distributing the food items, to their respective villagese, this intervention will go a long way to ease hardships people have been facing in recent times in Akwa-Ibom State. 

In an overwhelming show of support, the Chairman of Etinan Local Government Area, Hon Uko Umoh, expressed his deep gratitude to Governor Umo Eno and the Federal Government for their timely intervention. 

Hon. Uko Umoh said, the last week distribution of 1,280 bags of rice and 128 bags of garri has provided much-needed relief to the people of Etinan in the 64 villages, he said that

This generous donation is a welcome relief to many families, providing essential food supplies during this difficult time.

Hon. Umoh stressed the importance of the distribution, stressing that it would be carried out with utmost transparency and efficiency, ensuring that every village in Etinan gets an equal share of the Parletive. 

As the distribution continue, Hon. Umoh remains committed to overseeing fair and equitable distribution, ensuring that the foods stuffs reaches those who needed them the most, that's the poorest of the poor and the needy. 

Among the Villagese that collected their share of Gov. Umo Eno Paletive in Etinan L.G.A was NDON EYO 2. 

A total of 20 bags of 25KG of Rice and 2 Bags of Garri was received by Pst. Sunday Ezekiel Udofot; President NDON EYO 2. Youths Council, with his cabinet members. 

As at Press time, many families in Ndon Eyo 2 have distributed their shares of Parletive to their respective household. 

Among those Families who have successfully share their Rice and Garri to their respective household are Nung Akpan Ntak, Nung Nsudom, Nung Iyanetuk, Nung Unen. We understand that Nung Obikan will share theirs tomorrow Sunday 4th of August. So if your mother, grandma, sister or aunty hasn't collected hers, ask her to contact the family head for her share .
