Social Media as become a second home to many, many virtually do everything on social media, from connecting with family and friends, to doing business, like buying and selling, banking and saving to working  and even getting paid, the numbers of what we can do online is endless.


Because of the Important of virtual world to our lives. We need to be Intentional on keeping them safe from Intruders.

 To many; their virtual office or social media accounts is most important then their physical office or house.

 In a physical office or home, it's what the intruder can see in the house or office at that time they broke in that they will make away with. But in your virtual office; the lost can be unquantifiable.


For the past two weeks now, some Intruders have been making frantic efforts to brake into my Facebook account. The last attempt was that of 17th of November when the nitwit hack in to my cousin Account and use it to send me message. 

The scallywag ask me to send him my Facebook number for him to add me on free Facebook data. Of cause I knew it wasn't my cousin because my brother I know can't send me such a message. What did I do; I had to pay along, I send my brother abandon Facebook account number to him; before I could say jack Robinson; the nitwit had use my number to reset my password, as was expected, Facebook send me a reset code, and he ask me to send the code for him to enable him add me on the so-called "Facebook free Data".

I'm using this medium to advise you to be very careful about your personal details you put online. It can be a potential danger to your cyber security. 

Here are Important Ten steps you must  take, in other to protect your Facebook account, page from Intruders. 


1. Create a strong and unique password: Use a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols in your password and avoid using common phrases or personal information like john12345, mike080123456789 or your phone number


2. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA): This adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second verification step, such as a code sent to your phone, in addition to your password.

 DO NOT RESPOND TO ANYBODY ASKING YOU TO SEND OR READ ANY CODE SEND TO YOUR MOBILE TEXT MESSAGE, doing so, you have given FREE ACCESS TO YOUR ACCOUNT BE IT SOCIAL MEDIA OR BANK ACCOUNT.


3. Be cautious of phishing attempts: Avoid clicking on suspicious links or sharing personal information on external websites that may be designed to steal your Facebook credentials. 

YOU WILL SEE MESSAGES LIKE, I JUST SEND A LIKE CONTAINING YOUR WINNING, "CLICK AND FIELD THE FORM;" PLEASE DON'T! 


4. Keep your devices and software up to date: Regularly update your operating system, web browsers, and antivirus software to protect against known vulnerabilities. 

UPDATING YOUR APPS FROM THE RIGHT SOURCE LIKE GOOGLE PLAYSTORE OR APPLE STORE IS VERY IMPORTANT.


IT KEEPS YOUR PHONE SECURITY AND APPS UPS TO DATE AND SECURE.


5. Use a secure internet connection: Avoid accessing your Facebook account on public Wi-Fi networks, as they may be insecure and easy for hackers to intercept your information.


ALWAYS TRY TO USE SECURE BROWSER WHEN BROWNIES SITE, BE SURE THAT THE SITE IS SECURE BY USING https:// instead of http:// look at the top left beginning of your browser, you will see padlock symbol, that's the sign of a secure site.a


6. Review your privacy settings: Make sure your Facebook account is only visible to friends and avoid sharing personal information publicly.

Be Mindful of your personal information you this out to the public. 

THE MORE PERSONAL INFORMATION YOU GIVE; THE LESS SECURE YOU ARE ON THE CYBERSPACE.


7. Be wary of third-party apps: Review and manage the apps connected to your Facebook account and remove any that are unfamiliar or unnecessary. 

MANY OF US DO SIGN-UPS TO SO MANY APPS AND SITES USING OUR SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNT. 

WE NEED TO BE CARFUL, FOR THESE TOO CAN LEAD TO DANGER OF OUR CYBER OFFICE AND PERSONAL INFORMATION COMPROMISE.


8. Regularly check your account activity: Monitor your account for any suspicious activity, such as unrecognized logins or unusual posts, and report any unauthorized activity to Facebook.

JUST LIKE THE PILOTS MOTTO; "IN GOD WE TRUST, OTHERS WE CHECK, MAKE SURE YOU DUBBLE CHECK YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA SECURITY SETTINGS FROM TIME TO TIME.


9. Educate yourself about social engineering tactics: Be cautious of any requests for personal information or login credentials, even if they appear to come from trusted sources. 

LIKE THEY USE TO SAY "IF ITS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE; ITS PROBABLY IS" REMEMBER THAT ALL THAT GLITTERS ARE NOT GOLD.


10. Consider using a password manager: These tools can generate and store strong passwords for you, making it easier to maintain secure login credentials. 

YOU CAN NEVER BE OVER CAREFUL WHEN IT COMES TO CYBER SAFTY. SO DO ALL YOU CAN TO REMAIN SAFE IN THSES CYBER WORLD.
