Who Are The Ibibos

The Ibibio people, who speak a Niger-Congo language called Ibibio or Efik-Ibibio. History has it that Ibibo people have been in the present day Nigeria since 7,000 BCE.  They were "The Man's World kind of society" and are believed to have first settled in a place they called Ibom, which  was the name of their an  ancestor. The Ibibo people are an ethnic group predominantly found in southern part of Nigeria, specifically in the Akwa-Ibom, Cross River, Rivers and Abia States.  They are related to the Ibibio people and speak a related language known as Ibibio-Efik. Sunday Ezekiel has resolved the electrification issues which has lasted for years with the officials of the power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN). According to our village news reporter, Ndon Eyo II community has been reconnected to the National Grid so that Ndon Eyo II indigenes can start to enjoy electricity supply. Our correspondent added that a philanthropist who does not want his name mentioned made a move with the youth president and supported financially in settling part of the NEPA BILL. There shall be a usual SHOUT OUT of UP NEPA! in Ndon Eyo II any moment from now.
